What to Expect
during a visit to Napa Women’s Center.
If you’re thinking about coming in, you probably have questions. That’s normal, and we want to make this easier. Napa Women’s Center is a free, confidential space in Napa, CA for women facing an unplanned pregnancy, whether you’ve taken a test or you’re still trying to figure out what’s going on. Walk in during our open hours or call ahead. Either way, nothing you share leaves this office, and you’ll never be handed a bill.
Privacy
Whatever you tell us stays between you and your client advocate. We don’t share your name, your story, or the fact that you came in with anyone outside the center. Our volunteers undergo background checks and privacy training before they meet a client, and a full copy of our privacy practices is yours for the asking.
Respect
You won’t be judged here, and you won’t be pushed toward any decision. We help clients regardless of age, income, background, faith, or circumstance. Our team is trained to listen first and answer honestly, and we treat every person who walks in like she matters, because she does.
Information & Options
You deserve real answers. We offer accurate information about pregnancy, your baby’s development, parenting, adoption, abortion procedures and their risks, STIs, and sexual health. Napa Women’s Center does not refer for or provide abortions or abortifacients, but we’ll give you honest information about all of your options so that you can make a decision you feel good about later.
A few of the questions we hear most often:
Is there a charge for your services?
No. All of our services are free of charge and confidential. You can visit our center confidently knowing you will not be required to pay a penny to receive the help, resources, and hope that you need.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you'd like a limited ultrasound, give us a call at (707) 266-1741 so we can have a sonographer ready for you.
How will I know if I'm actually pregnant?
Start with a pregnancy test. Ours are lab-quality and free, and they're accurate about 10 days after conception. If your test is positive, a limited ultrasound can confirm how far along you are and whether the pregnancy is viable. Both are worth knowing before you decide anything.
What if I've already taken a home test?
Bring what you know. Home tests are usually reliable, but confirming the result in person with a lab-quality pregnancy test and following up with an ultrasound gives you a fuller picture. There's no cost to coming in a second time.
Who will I be meeting with?
Who you meet with will depend on the services you are here for. Typically, the first person you will meet with is a trained client advocate. Advocates are not doctors or counselors in the clinical sense - they are someone who'll sit with you, listen, and walk you through your options at your pace. If you're here for medical services, they are provided by our licensed Registered Nurse.
Will anyone try to talk me into something?
No. Our job is to give you accurate information and the space to think about all of your options. Whatever you decide, we're here, including after, if you want material assistance, parenting support, or post-abortion care.
Where are you located?
Our medical center is located at 935 Trancas St, Suite 4B, Napa, CA 94558. There's parking on-site. If you can't find us, give us a call, and we'll walk you in.
